As Easter approaches and with it the promise of new hope in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I wish you and your loved ones the peace and joy of Saint Anthony’s love.
May his warm embrace hold you and keep you, now and forever.
Holocaust Memorial Day takes place on the 27th of January each year. On this day we should learn the lessons of the past and recognize that a genocide does not just take place on its own, but is a steady and degenerative process which begins whendiscrimination, racism and hatred are not checked and prevented.
Every day we are called upon to face new challenges: the challenge of forgiveness, of solidarity, of sharing, of welcoming our needy neighbors. It is for this reason that we, friars of the Basilica of Saint Anthony in Padua, are praying for you that you may walk in Saint Anthony’s presence in this New Year as well.
You may have had the chance of experiencing, in some situations, the value and meaning of his presence at your side.
As we gather together this Christmas to celebrate the coming into this world of the ‘beautiful light’ in the form of Jesus Christ our Saviour, I extend to you the heartfelt wishes and love of the friars of Saint Anthony.
May God bless you for your kind heart and giving nature.
