From the motorway
(to calculate the cost, you can look up servizio Autostrade s.p.a.

From East Padua: (from the direction of Venice): as you exit, take the first right at the roundabout; move straight away to the left side of the road, following the signs to the centre, getting on to the road 'via San Marco'. Keep going straight until you reach the large cross-roads in the area called 'Stanga', where you turn left, at the traffic lights, onto 'via Ariosto'. At the second set of traffic lights, turn right onto 'via Gattamelata'. Follow this road, crossing three sets of traffic lights. At the fourth, turn right onto 'via Cavazzana', to go to 'Prato della Valle'. At the second set of traffic lights, stick to the left, to get to 'via Carducci', to the Prato della Valle car park.

From West Padua (from the direction of Milan), also from the direction of 'statale della Valsugana': as you exit, follow the sign saying Sant'Antonio and you will get onto 'Corso Australia'. Go straight for about three kilometres, until you see the sign Sant'Antonio - Prato della Valle on the right-hand exit. Follow the signs saying Sant'Antonio at the junctions, until you get onto the road 'via Sorio', passing Padua airport on the right. Keep going straight until you reach the set of traffic lights at the crossroads on 'via Cernaia'. Turn right and keep going straight until you get to the next set of traffic lights, keeping to the left. Keep heading for Sant'Antonio - Prato della Valle, passing along the roads 'via Paoli' and 'via Cavalletto'. At the set of traffic lights that leads to 'Prato della Valle', go straight for 150 metres, then turn right into the road 'via Carducci', where the entrance to the Prato della Valle car park is located. From South Padua (from the direction of Bologna): exit from the motorway, follow the connecting road up to a set of traffic lights. Turn right and follow the signs saying Sant'Antonio. At the next set of crossroads, after the railway flyover, turn right, to enter the city, getting onto 'via Adriatica'. Keep going straight until you get to the 'Bassanello' traffic lights, follow the signs saying Centro and Sant'Antonio. Go straight along the road 'via Costa' and having crossed the traffic lights, turn left, following the signs saying Sant'Antonio, keep to the right until the road turns into 'via Marghera'. After about 400 metres, turn left into the road 'via 58° Fanteria', following signs for il parcheggio di Prato della Valle.

From the railway station

On foot: 'corso del Popolo', 'corso Garibaldi', 'piazza Eremitani', 'via Zabarella', 'via del Santo';

By tram: to get off at "Santo" bus stop

By bus: bus routes A, M, T, urban routes n. 3, 12, 18, minibus Diretto piazze (weekdays and pre-holidays); 43 only on Sundays (for bus timetables go to the APS internet site): or you can get to the Basilica on foot in ten minutes.

Bus to Padua: by the airport exit there is a bus stop for SITA buses. For timetables, go to the Padua connecting page: You can buy tickets from arrivals area at the SITA stand in the arrival area from 8.00 until 24.00 every day.

SITA buses arrive in Padua in Piazzale Boschetti. From there take bus n° 24 and get off at Prato della Valle. There you will find a free Shuttle Bus which goes to the Basilica (except on Sunday); or you can get to the Basilica on foot in ten minutes.

On foot: from Piazzale Boschetti take 'via Gozzi', 'via Porciglia', 'via Cassan', 'via Zabarella', 'via del Santo'.
